Through many months of work on the part of a lot of people, the dispute between the City and the Chargers was resolved. The key elements of the compromise:

• Eliminates the ticket guarantee
• Eliminates the renegotiation (trigger) rights
• Keeps the Chargers in San Diego at least through the 2008 NFL Season
• Allows the City to obtain a substantial termination fee if the agreement is terminated before 2020
• Terminates pending litigation
• Provides the voters two opportunities (2006 & 2008) to decide on a stadium initiative
• Provides for the basic foundation, and time, for the City/Chargers to explore and evaluate real opportunities for a new first class stadium in San Diego and to let the voters decide the issue
